Ask Sarah!!

Since I get asked a lot of questions on a daily basis, I thought that I would share the most asked here.

Q: Do you have any job openings?
A: Unfortunately there are no job openings with The Perfect Weddings at this time. However, if you are interested in an internship, please feel free to use the Contact page to send me an email with your resume and any schooling that you are currently doing. I will gladly take a look and if your qualifications meet the criteria, I will gladly give you a call.

Q: What is the best way to get started in the wedding planning business?
A: The best suggestion that I can make for any person who is interested in the wedding industry is to join an association. There are plenty of associations out there dedicated strictly to wedding planning. There are two that I would highly recommend. First, The Association of Bridal Consultants (www.bridalassn.com). They are a national association where you can meet with coordinators and vendors in your area to network with. In addition, they offer classes that you can take to lear everything that you need to know and once you have finished the classes, you are able to shadow a certified consultant. Check out their website for their annual association fees and to get more information. The second association that I would recommend is The Association of Certified Professional Wedding Consultants (www.acpwc.com). When I last checked, they only offered their classes in California, but it is well worth it to go out there and spend the week in the class. You gain a wealth of information and experience that you can't get if you just learn out of a book. They are expanding quickly, so I am sure that soon they will have members all over the country!!

Q: Do I need a Bridal Consultant?
A: A consultant will be a distinct asset as you plan your wedding. Wouldn't it be nice to spend time with your fiance and your families, rather than worrying about all the details of your special day? A consultant will take care of those details, leaving you to have the fun. And on your wedding day, you shine as the star, while your consultant works behind the scenes to make your dreams come true!

Q: Won't a consultant want to run the whole show?
A: A professional bridal consultant will work with you to handle as much or as little of your wedding as you wish. After all, it is your wedding. The consultant is there to help you and your family and make the day as perfect as possible.

Q: Why can't I do the planning myself?
A: You certainly can do the planning yourself, and that sometimes is part of the fun. But is also can be a hassle: checking out many sources for each vendor category, making sure all the details are in place and worrying about whether you're getting the best deal and whether everything will turn out all right. A bridal consultant has the training and experience to make it all come together while you relax.

Q: Do I need a contract with my consultant?
A: You should have some agreement in writing. The Perfect Weddings, LLC always provides a contract outlining the cost of the services, payment due dates, payment methods, cancellation policies, and the services that will be provided.

Q: What will a Bridal Consultant charge?
A: Most consultants charge an hourly rate or a fixed fee, or a combination of both. All these methods are acceptable, but you should clarify in writing how and when you will compensate your wedding coordinator for her services. A wedding consultant is part of your budget, not an extra expense. In fact, you often save money because a consultant suggest affordable alternatives that still enhance your wedding. The professional bridal consultant will work with you to produce your dream wedding, including the consultant's fee, all within your budget. Some wedding coordinators receive discounts from vendors because of the number of clients they recommend. The Perfect Weddings always passes along these savings directly to the customer and will never keep a percentage for themselves. In addition, we will always be open and honest about any payments that are received from vendors.

Q: How can I tell if a Bridal Consultant is providing a quality vendor?
A: Bridal Consultants work with many different wedding vendors and service providers. They have experience to know who is the best suited for your wedding. The consultant's reputation depends on the quality of the services you receive. A bridal professional is committed to providing the best possible wedding for the lowest possible cost. Also the consultant's job is to keep you on budget.
